Basically, you look at your LJ "interests" list. If you have fewer than 50 interests, you pick every fifth one.(*) If you have between 50 and 75 interests, you pick every seventh one. If you have more than 75 interests, pick every 10th one. If you have fewer than 10, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much.OK, here's mine:
conspiracy theories,As a fortean, I love watching how people's minds knot themselves into strange ideas and theories. As a SubGenius I understand that we are all under the oppression of "The Con", whether we know it or not. Conspiracy Theory is such a vague term, because it covers everythng from who shot JFK, to financial collapse due to insider trading.
dressmaking, I love making my own gear (and it's just as well at my size). Trouble is, I'm lazy as anything. I'll put off doing anything on the sewing machine as long as I can. Once I get started however, I find it wonderful!
goth, I was always drawn to "the gothic", even before I knew what it was. Seems to be something in my personality. I regular get depressed, and being Goth just sorta suits me.
national young writer's festival, I've been attending these ever since 2000, when Carol and Susan came up for a visit. Despite the title, it's an annual multi-arts festival that includes a variety of topics and mediums. Also, most of the people involved are young, and their enthusiasm rubbs off onto me.
perth, I wasn't born here, but I did spend about 30 years of my life in Perth. Capital of Westerna Australia (and its biggest city), Perth is one of the most isolated capitals in the world. It took me a long time to break away from it, but eventually I escaped to Newcastle, in New South Wales.
the church, This is one of my favourite bands. There's just something about their music that hooks into me, like
The Cure,
Placebo, and a few other bands as well. Their style has changed over the years, but the impac t is still the same.
transexual, What I am, amoung a multitude of other labels. Obstensively a "medical label", invented by medical types for medical uses. Some folk take this label on to be a definition of who they are. That's fine, as far as it goes, but a "better" label for me (if there is such a thing) is "Gallae".
wombabes, Folk who used to be (or still are) part of the
Wombat Mailing List. I've identified as a bisexual woman, and this list seemed a logical one to be one. I've gone "no mail" off and on over the years, but it always feels like "home".
