Oh, what a long long day.
The Day
Walked Peggy. Then at 10am I went to the hairdresser's down the road for a trim and a brow wax. Then I drove to Glendale and caught the bus to Charlestown to see my GP. It wasn't until I got to Charlestown that I realised that my car/house keys weren't on me! I must have dropped them either somewhere between Bunnings (behind which I parked) and the Bus port just outside the cinema, or maybe even on the bus.
However, there was no point in going directly back to search for them. I went to my GP and got two referrals (one was faxed to the health service) and talked about how I was not coping. Then I had a bit of lunch (eel sushi + miso soup from a sushi bar), did a bit of browsing for pre-paid deals for mobiles (seems I need a SIMS phone first) and caught the bus to John Hunter Hospital.
I handed over the referral, and that was sorted out. I saw my endo but it was not a happy time. I'd last seen him back in November and was supposed to have an appointment in February, and a referral to a dietician. Heard nothing about either. Phoned him in March and said that it would be organised, but nothing came of it until last Wednesday. Then I got a phone message (I now have "phone 101" or whatever - if I'm not here you can leave a message) Wednesday night that the appointment was on Friday and I needed a referral. Not happy. I got it, but not happy, and no dietician, so I've organised something via my GP.
Tested my blood pressure which seems back to normal, but I still feel bleaugh. Need to do something about my weight. Need to do something about everything!
Glendale
Then I caught the bus to the uni and mad an appointment to see the Disability Liaison Officer next Wednesday. I've got an appointment to see a counsellor at the uni next Tuesday at 9 am. Two days at the uni, I can cope with. Then I caught the bus back to Glendale. I had ten minutes before the connecting bus took me back to Barnsley, and I still had the light, so I did a quick search, but no keys. I left the car and caught the bus home. And here I am now. Whew. I feel absolutely tired and washed out. Bus travel for half the day is not my preferred mode of travel.
Plans
Now here's the thing. After temporary losing my keys at Second Life last year, I made copies of both car and house keys. My car's still at Glendale and I could (tomorrow, too late for a bus) go and get it. But I'm also going down to Sydney tomorrow, before going to Wake the Dead tomorrow night. I have been looking forward to that, and that's one reason I got my hair done.
Luckily, fiery_ichor is driving down to Sydney and I was going with her anyway. She'll be here at 1pm, and I'm very tempted to just let the car sit there until Sunday afternoon/Monday morning. I need a break, and the car can wait until then.
