I brought the Rauni home yesterday.

I gave up trying to get a permit to surreptitiously drive her home. I phoned around, and found a company that would tow her for a flat $60 (15 km, or $4/km). I might have got it cheaper, but that seemed reasonable.

The first thing I did was check the car. She seemed alright, and fairly clean after two days of heavy rain. I also found a missing battery for my mobile on the floor of the driver's side, so I was able to phone the company directly. Rather than have the car towed straight away (it was 1pm) I arranged for her to be towed a 4pm. Then I went to Stocklands in Jesmond, and later Wallsend Plaza, and did some pet food and other shopping, stowing the stuff in the car. It all got towed home together.

I also had lunch at Henny Penny, which was the least I could do considering that my car'd been parked in their car park for the last 8 days. I also introduced myself as the owner of the car and said that it would be removed at 4pm. They seemed relieved that I'd finally made an appearance. They also seemed puzzled, saying that the policeman who'd removed the plates had said that it hadn't been reported stolen. I was too embarrassed to tell the truth, so I lied. I told them that I'd been fixing it up for sale, and that my nephew had taken it for a joy ride. They accepted that entirely.

But I can't lie to myself. I fucked up due to my own actions, and have to accept responsibility for that. On the way home, sitting in the drivers cab of the truck, I felt initially relieved to get the Rauni moved, but as we crossed the bridge in Barnsley I felt very very sad.

I'll be marching tomorrow night. Was going to march with the bisexual group, but am going to march with Amnesty International, and maybe go to Ascension afterwards. Maybe - I'll see how well I feel after the march. I might end up crashing at either [profile] _blubloo_'s or Erica's.

Actually, I'm a bit undecided. The last time I went to Ascension I had a bad freak out, and the last time I went to the Sly Fox I was crying into my shandy. And today, I woke up at 3am with a bit of head cold. I've been drinking a bit in the last few days (port, wine, and two cans of beer) so I've not been entirely "here".

Then again, I heard that the Sly Fox had rearranged things so that the dance floor is now only on one level and at the back near the toilets. Maybe it'll be fun...

...or maybe I should just call it a night after the march and crash at Erica's. Sunday night [livejournal.com profile] pan_inc are running a full moon ritual on the 4th. If I'm down in Sydney anyway, it might not be hard to attend, though getting back might be a problem ('cause at this point, I don't know where I'd be getting back to).

Or I could go to the Tezuka Exhibition and watch Laputa castle in the sky. Or maybe I'm just confused. Maybe I should just march and worry about things later.

You Belong in Paris
You enjoy all that life has to offer, and you can appreciate the fine tastes and sites of Paris. You're the perfect person to wander the streets of Paris aimlessly, enjoying architecture and a crepe.

I was able to relax a bit today.

Went over to Jenn's (after having blood tests at Wallsend) and watched Nanny McPhee with her. Needed that (relaxing at Jenn's, not the blood test). hadn't been able to do that for a week. Just needed some time out.

Not out of the hole yet though.

Got a letter from Hunter Heath organising a counsellor for me. Seems they initially set up one in Toronto - hard to get to (and back) without a car from Barnsley. I phoned and tried to switch to Wallsend. Got the run-around and was left on hold for five minutes before being cut off. As it transpires, they can't change the booking until the people who made it (at Toronto) are back - one's away for a week and the other has two days off to go to a funeral.

Oh well. I also discovered yesterday that I have to wait until I get an "enforcement order" on the fines before I can adjust paying them. That will take at least 6 weeks. I suppose I ought to make use of that time, but right now - ah fuck it - Mardi Gras first, I'll worry about stuff later.
