A couple of great links in [livejournal.com profile] nematoddity's recent post "for lovers of weird books everywhere" - The Museum of Weird Books and Judge A Book By Its Cover.

Ben Bova's publishers, what were you thinking? And where can I get a copy of "Crusade: The Story of the Bible Retold for Catholic Children"?!

I was going to catch the 8:47am bus this morning, but it's just too wet. Need to go out and buy pet food and/or visit Jenn. However, with the degree it's pissing down, I think this might be another day at home, at least this morning.

All the pets but Xena were inside last night. Xena was in until about 11pm, when it wasn't raining outside. Then she just wanted to go out, instead of sleep on top of the pantry. This morning she was outside the front door, meowing to come in. She ate breakfast and then wanted to go out again. Later, she wanted to come in, but continually hissed at Gabby, so I let her out again - in this weather!

Still - her choice, and I'm sure she has a hide-away where she can hunker down out of the rain somewhere.

I was hunting around for a replacement organiser program (for Treeline, which I currently use, but find a bit cumbersome) and checking out things like outliners and desktop wikis. Anyway, I came across a self modifying HTML document called TiddlyWiki (and an even "wackier" variant called GTD TiddlyWiki), and that had a macro reference page called Gimcrack'd.

Now check out the welcome page, and the reference to stories underneath. I found this a really cool implementation of Hypertext, and one that isn't exactly HTML style (even though it's all on a web page).

I went out looking for her, and brought her inside. Now she's annoyed, but warm and dry. Looks like this year's flood outside...
