Octapod account going
Jul. 7th, 2008 09:32 amI've had a email account at the Octapod for maybe seven years. Seems they're winding up that service, and any e-mail lists and websites that they host for support reasons, so my Octapod e-mail address will be gone after the start of August. Actually, that's not bad, considering it costs me $2 originally.
However, this is also indicative of the changes at the Octapod, which has gone from a mostly volunteer arts group to a now funds and grants body. Kevin used to be involved there as a techie, but got very disenchanted with it.
Times change. I've been phasing out my Hunter Apana stuff in the last 12 months (even though I was coordinator of it for a year), including references to the e-mail address I had there. Right now, I get more spam from each address than legitimate mail.
Might have to use my Yahoo e-mail address now for online registrations. Pity, because the Octapod one is so easy to remember.
