Darker soundsAm enjoying these internet Radio stations:

Of course I also love Doomed at Soma FM, but the stations above have a more focussed, insanely driven sound. Sometimes I just need light ambient, or relaxation/meditation music, but other times I just need something DARK and all consuming.

I love the fact that many German bands sing in English. Of course, Raamstein comments on this as well.

Found a neat net radio channel called Digital Gunfire, which plays "industrial, ebm and futurepop". I just heard this track on it:

I discovered LunarCast by accident. I just happened to be in the area and fell onto it!

Haven't been to a live set yet, but I do enjoy the mix that one can listen to at the archive. I seem to have developed a taste for ambient and mixed online music. Must go to a session sometime in SL.

Also found a link to OCTOBER COUNTRY RADIO, which streams horror and scifi audio drama. I just turned in and it's clearly a H.P. Lovecraft drama - aha - The Dunwich Horror! (insane giggle)

Without a doubt - Soma FM. It listen often to: Lush; Space Station Soma 9the first place I ever heard the MikeG Dune Mix);  Digitalis; Secret Agent and Doomed. And I am seriously considering sending them a donation, or buying a T-Shirt.

There's been a really good track played on the Digitally Imported - Chillout channel called The Dune Mix by Mike G. It runs for 75 minutes and captures the qualities of the book and Lynch's film. I just discovered that you can listen to this (and others on demand at www.ambientmusicguide.com. In particular this page for Mike G's stuff (including his regular shows from 2007).

And just in case you're lazy, here's two direct links:

As demonstrated by my selecting this:

gothActually I've been listening to Darknation radio. Also, other interesting dark stuff at Red Emprez - Caress Me Clip and NTRSN feat. Bleiburg - No more heroes.

I suspect it might be lack of sleep, so I'm off to bed.

I'm vegetating in front of the PC just now, sampling strange campus and university radio channels with interesting music (and some old stuff too):

I've been listening to these online lately:

I love the mix between these stations, though I've also been listening to these a lot:

There's something just a little surreal about listening to jazzy suggestive stuff and hearing random quotes from James Bond and other films! Of course on Space Station they repeat a certain track and you hear "The Spice extends life..."    What would Frank Herbert think?

A few days ago I put in a request for a "Mixed Bag" on the Super Request show on TripleJ, as a tribute to Pegasus. I got it, and it's on tonight at around 6:30pm today (local time, for your time, go here).

You can stream TripleJ, so if you want to listen to this check out this page. And if you can't, my selections were:

  1. Pegasus by Pegasus;
  2. Truth about cats & Dogs by Pony Up; and
  3. Do You Realise? by Flaming Lips.

Hurray! This is brightening up my day.

I happened in be looking a for a Burning man Internet Radio channel. Not that I'm at Burning man or anything, but I was briefly in Second Life checking out Burning Life (their version of Burning Man and only there for two more days) and tried the background music. Odd, but I had no idea what it was.

However, after a search I found Soma FM. Not what I was looking for, but lots of laid back mood music, yea. I mean, I have the bandwidth, why not use it?

While I mention it, here's some other channels I've been listening to  on the net via winamp:

I prefer stuff that sits in the background while I do other stuff on the PC. Do you have any suggestions or favourites with Internet radio?
